The Marc Joseph Band began early in 2008 with front man Marc Joseph (rhythm guitar/lead vocals) performing solo shows and inviting other musicians to join him on stage. Musicians came out to the shows to play alongside Marc every Friday night until fate intervened and the pieces of the puzzle began to come together. 

Marc Joseph found 19 year old Andy Melo (lead guitar, backing vocals) by his side at every show, shortly followed by David Meffe (Percussion/backing vocals) a talented and charismatic drummer who provided the perfect backbone needed to turn this little jam band into the foundations of an epic trio. It seemed the only thing missing was a bassist. After watching one performance, Dave Ongena (Bass guitar/backing vocals) knew that this was something special and the formation of a quartet was instantaneous, the chemistry was perfect! 
The Marc Joseph Band quickly outgrew the smaller bars where hundreds would gather to see an unprecedented variety of high energy cover songs spanning dozens of genres in a unique way that was distinctly their own. The frequency of shows increased rapidly as more and more venues showed interest in this promising band. MJB is a rare group of charismatic, driven, professional musicians with personalities that shine both on and off the stage.

By harnessing the buzz created from their impressive schedule (over 150 shows/year), MJB released their first original album entitled Breathe produced by Sascha Tukatsch, mixed and mastered by Richard Chycki. Their fans were already waiting. The Marc Joseph Band sold out the Toronto Hard Rock Cafe and more than 500 copies of their “Breathe” album on the very first day it was released. This started a chain reaction creating tour opportunities in the USA and MJB headed out to Los Angeles booking several iconic venues (Including The Whisky-A-Go-Go) on their first all original tour in the USA. The Marc Joseph Band executed a well thought out plan with the same tenacity and passion that they have become known for, using cover songs to connect with fans and build demand for their original music.

Currently the band is approaching 200 shows annually remaining self managed, mentoring other artists, and writing/recording new original material for their second album. The Marc Joseph Band has risen to the top of the cover band scene in the Greater Toronto Area, and regularly plays in the USA at several major casinos as well.
