In August 2008, my mom (Anna Hiebert) and myself (Martha Zacharias) took on the adventure of full-filling a life long dream of my mom's by opening a bakery - Grandma's Oven - in Aylmer on 17 King Street. We worked side by side for almost 8 years before my mom decided she'd like to start her road to retire. I took on the business myself in May, 2016 and incorporated the business into what's now: Grandma's Oven Bakery & Cakes Inc.
In March, 2017, I purchased another local bakery - The Pie Pantry - and moved my bakery to our current location - 157 John Street N. in Aylmer. I combined both bakeries together (recipes and staff) and created a larger bakery offering even more products including a variety of gluten free products and a larger variety of pies - savory meat pies as well.
Every Saturday, you can also now find our products at the Western Fair Farmers' & Artisan Market on Dundas St, East from 8am to 3pm!

Always having been creative and artistic, I took to making cakes. My first wedding cake I created was for my sister and my passion for this art quickly grew. I took a few local courses to learn the basics, but most of my knowledge is self taught and years of experience. Cakes are my canvas and I'm always looking for the next confectionery challenge!
